Jay Spillane is a proud native Californian. His mother’s family arrived in Los Angeles in 1917 and his father moved to Santa Monica in 1939.
Jay graduated high school in Silicon Valley, earned a political science degree from UCLA in 1982 and finished in the top 5% of his class at U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 1986.
Jay started his career at O’Melveny & Myers, where he tried two jury trials for the Los Angeles Unified School District. He moved to an entertainment boutique where he tried cases for Robert Redford and Harold Ramis. Bit by the trial bug, Jay formed his own firm to represent entrepreneurs in bet-the-company business trials.
Jay is married and has four children, a dog and three cats. When not trying cases, he enjoys writing novels, exercise, cooking, coaching kid soccer, skiing and enjoying California’s beautiful scenery.
